Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA Collection: Stomp! Shout! Scream!

 | There are three fine instros among this selection of garage rock. Of particular note is the resurfacing of one of The Penetrators great surf tracks. |
Picks: The Fleshtones - Time Zone, Johnny Knox and Hi-Test - Renegade Grinder, The Penetrators - 50 Bucks A Midget

The Fleshtones - Time Zone

Garage Surf (Instrumental)
The Fleshtones employ glissandos and twang, and picked bass, plus tinkling keys in this instrumental riff rocker. It's fairly repetitious, yet there's something tribal and primal that demands listening.
Johnny Knox and Hi-Test - Renegade Grinder

Rock (Instrumental)
This is a garage rocker with surf tendencies at times and feedback and intense guitar. Great drums and marvelous energy. Melodic and stinging, and great for a drag down 101.
The Penetrators - 50 Bucks A Midget

Surf (Instrumental)
Great opening drums... "50 Bucks A Midget" is sideshow surf with a really crisp sound and an almost prancing joy about it. Richly reverbed, almost to the chunk limits established by the Woodies. Totally cool track.
