Collection: Space Bunnies Must Die - Original Game Soundtrackdotdotdot
artworkLooking for surf in all the wrong places sometimes pays off. This is the soundtrack to the RipCord game Space Bunnies Must Die. It contains two instros, the Surfaris pure vintage "Point Panic," and the modern morphed chicken bop of Southern Culture on the Skids. The rest of the CD is a marvelous mixture of songs, ranging from Loretta Lynn and the Reverend Horton Heat, to Buddy Holly and Bo Diddley, with the great Etta James and Slim Harpo added, plus Steppenwolf and Ike and Tina Turner. Where's that joystick?
Picks: Point Panic, Deja Varoom

Surf (Instrumental)

A-side of the follow up single to "Wipe Out." Great intro scream and tom toms. The fire in the bones of the band is clear here. High spirited, chunky, and rhythmic. Grand power glissandoes, and those wonderful Ron Wilson drums. Jim Pash's sax is most appropriate. Not often covered, but a really good tune.

Chicken Surf (Instrumental)

With the swamp gas removed and the feathers plucked, this instro meanders across the boundary between surf and chicken bop, with lots of energy and major fun. Echoed guitar and pumped drums and bass, and a sense of the silly. Excellent.
