Collection: Los Reyes Del Rock And Rolldotdot
artworkThis 20 track CD compiles some of the chart side of Mexican rock 'n' roll from the sixties. The bootleg comps remain the only place to get the really honest cuts from Mexican garage legends like Los Apson and Los Locos Del Ritmo. While there are a few names here from "the day," most had become mainstream pop artists by the time these cuts were made. There are a few bright spots, including an odd arrangement of the Virtues' "Guitar Boogie Shuffle."

Boogie De La Guitarra dotdotdot
Country Rockabilly (Instrumental)

Opening with the expected riff, which temporarily drops to quiet and slows down, this quickly becomes a tantalizing cross between the teen rockabilly romp and a country hoedown. Lap steel whines, sax wails and squeals, guitar grunts, and the drums and bass do what's right. It's pretty darn cool.
