Split: Fight To Win - The Cave 4 vs. Scumbag Roadsdotdotdot
artworkThe Cave 4 have released material before, and continue to drive hard for the kill. Scumbag Roads are new to me. They have a more melodic approach and a raw edged sound. All for tracks are solid.
Picks: The Cave 4 - The Gun Riders, Jugoslavian Horsebackride, Scumbag Roads - El Corazon de un Gringo, The Fogrider

Track by Track Review

The Cave 4 - The Gun Riders dotdotdot
Spaghetti Surf (Instrumental)

Near mariachi horns accent this grode spaghetti western epic. The riff is solid, the low-E guitar quite cool. It has the feel of the Italian westerns, plus the sound of surf. The sound is muddy, but the the tune is great.

The Cave 4 - Jugoslavian Horsebackride dotdotdot
Spaghetti Surf (Instrumental)

This sad song has a rolling military beat and a murky feel, as well as an adventurous western edge. The writing is good, and the band is right on.

Scumbag Roads - El Corazon de un Gringo dotdotdotdot
Spaghetti Surf (Instrumental)

Spanish imagery, garage distortion, disturbing twang, and a long tortured intro... The song is a splendid piece of Mexican bandito rock. The theme is very visual. It's a pretty tune played with drive. Quite interesting.

Scumbag Roads - The Fogrider dotdotdot
Spaghetti Surf (Instrumental)

Heavy thundering aggressive riff rockin' assault with glissandos and a basic run that's slightly spy. Big on energy, low on melody, but with excellent overdriven feedback and slammin' picking.
