Picks: The Crescents - In The Mood
Track by Track Review
The Crescents - In The Mood

Rock (Instrumental)
An infectious rhythm and playful muted guitar licks takes "In The Mood" completely outside the realm of recognizability. Very playful, and occasional double picked lines makes it almost surfable. Busy and very spunky.
The Taifuns - Honky Tonk
Rock (Instrumental)
This is just a straight copy of Bill Dogget's "Honky Tonk." Nothing going on here at all.
Rock (Instrumental)
Johnny and the Hurricanes' "Crossfire" is very close to the original in arrangement. Quite fun, but not really noteworthy.
Rock (Instrumental)
Al Casey's "Ramrod" is really thin compared to the hit version. The band was clearly having fun, but it's not enough to take it out of the shadows.
Rock (Instrumental)
Johnny and the Hurricanes' "Buckeye" is done with care, but in the end, it's just a cover. Spunk and honor don't raise its effectiveness enough.
