artworkThis is a fantastic parody of the K-Tel TV collections theme. There's no shortage of wonderful tongue-in-cheek covers of the all too familiar Billboard charts. Issued in 1991, this is likely out of print now, but worth seeking out. Among the gems here are "Convoy" performed by the New Duncan Imperials, "Mississippi Queen" as covered by God's Acre, "I Feel Love" by the Poster Children, and the Slugs' "Hooked On A Feeling." Then, of course, there's the highlight of the disc, Spies Who Surf slaughtering "Hocus Pocus."

Surf (Instrumental)

Well now, inspired is an understatement. This cover of Focus' "Hocus Pocus" is a brilliant choice for surfability and humor. It sports all of the novelty of the original, and adds a gallon of reverb and waves. This was quite a band, and this is one must have of a track.
