 | Rootsy country with surf and an abundance of cool! The three instros here are superb! |
Picks: Remington Rock, Pants On Fire 2007, Flight Of The Beverly Bumblebillies
Track by Track Review
Surfabilly (Instrumental)
The melody line in "Remington Rock" is very happy and fun in that way only country can produce. Very fast picking influenced by Roy Clark and Chet Atkins, among others. This is just way too fun to pass by.
Surf (Instrumental)
The Ventures 1960 beat, dark double picked surf guitar, and a chorus singing the praises of having your pants on fire. "Pants on Fire 2007" is all surf, with rich liquid reverb tone and excellent playing. Very cool track!
Flight Of The Beverly Bumblebillies

Surfabilly (Instrumental)
Super speedy Grand Ol Opry picking delivering Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight Of The Bumble Bee" merged with the theme from "The Beverly Hillbillies" with way too much grinning going on. The lead guitar is played with the grin and flair that used to prevail on Hee-Haw when Roy Clark would play an instrumental. Totally cool!
