The Cousins - Collection 1960-1961dotdotdot
artworkThis collection is likely a bootleg assemblage if a fan. That said, if early sixties Belgian beat is of interest, it's worth tracking down, along with the second volume of tracks from 1962.
Picks: Bouddha, The Midnight Sun Will Never Set

Track by Track Review

Bouddha dotdotdotdot
Near Surf (Instrumental)

"Bouddha" is interesting and exotic instrumental. It has a light, shin sound, but it boarders on surf via ringing chords and very cool percussion. Slightly mysterious, and gently trembling, the song is both cute and cool!

Manhattan Spiritual dotdot
Rock (Instrumental)

This is a fairly poppy guitar instro treatment of Reg Owen's "Manhattan Spiritual." It's chorus that really takes it down, without which this could have been very serviceable.

The Midnight Sun Will Never Set dotdotdot
Near Surf (Instrumental)

This is a lovely slow romancer with gently delivered guitar and smooth bass. "Midnight Sun Will Never Set" is very much an easy listening track, but is very easy on the soul.
