 | Like their first CD, this is way far outside the envelope, but a decent bet for an ambient filler to an afternooner. New age tropical light weight easy listening instros. |

Track by Track Review
New Age Tropical Surf (Instrumental)
Reggae beats, keyboard playfulness, and tropical steel drum leads. Kinda weird, kinda neat, kinda curious.
New Age Tropical Surf (Instrumental)
John Blakeley and Walter Georis of the Sandals wrote this. It's not like their version, but it sports some energy and some reggae interpretations. The lead is quite subdued, and when combined with the Jamaican arrangement, well... it's all too much. Cool as an alternative to lounge.
New Age Tropical Surf (Instrumental)
Smurph's up, dude! "Summer Gill" floats a very pretty mood on the eys, and some squishy fills too. Too slushy for me.
New Age Tropical Surf (Instrumental)
John Blakeley and Walter Georis of the Sandals wrote this. They made it sing. here, the drums seem too pumped for the melody, but do work with the subdued fuzz guitar and keyboard warpage. Way strange and moody.
New Age Tropical Surf (Instrumental)
Actual guitar licks and drums, and tropical percussion. What an unusual track. Rhythmic and friendly.
1.5 Mile Drive
New Age Tropical Surf (Instrumental)
Waiting for the dawn or the rain, watching the grass grow... you get the picture.
New Age Tropical Surf (Instrumental)
Too shallow at the opening, but fun like the Square Roots once it breaks into the body of the song. Nifty ska based coolness.
New Age Tropical Surf (Instrumental)
Slowish funky beat, keyboard slides and warps, and gutty guitar simulations under a thin guitar lead playing a nice little surfy melody.
What's All The Fuss About

New Age Tropical Surf (Instrumental)
Funk bunk. Tweaky guitar. I'm not sure about this at all.
New Age Tropical Surf (Instrumental)
Thick distant rhythms, log drums, mystic island images, and sweeping panoramic keyboards... a film score kinda track.
New Age Tropical Surf (Instrumental)
Extremely fluffy track, with delicate guitar work and ample space.
4.5 Mile Drive
New Age Tropical Surf (Instrumental)
New age filler, at least it doesn't cut it for me.
New Age Tropical Surf (Instrumental)
Acoustic solo guitar and a very pretty though slightly sad melody. Quite friendly. It breaks into a more aggressive second half, like a variation on the "Endless Summer" idea. Fun.
