The Chocolate Watchband - (Almost) Fourth Of Julydotdotdotdotdot
artworkIt's been four years since the Chocolate Watchband played in the Pit - entirely too long! Five songs were presents, Bert Bacharach's unlikely "My Little Red Book," the Sorrows' plaintiff and punky "Take A Heart," Buddy Holly's rhythm dominated Bo Diddley beat based "Not Fade Away," and the ever dangerous "No Way Out." A splendid set of music! Any time you get the chance, see this band!

Surf (Instrumental)

Dave Aguilar's face told the tale as his Theremin sang a plaintiff song. This coolest of all their instros that they never played back in the day continues to gather power with every new performance. Rich tone, and a divine sense of the absurd from Richie Podolor's writing and the band's great sense of humor, executed through fine musicianship.
