Picks: Voodoo Ceremony, The House Of The Rising Sun, Piel de Tiburon, The Wedge
Track by Track Review
Really ugly bass sound, basic drums, and splashy guitar. The melody is perhaps a bit riffy, but played powerfully. "Voodoo Ceremony" ends with a reverb crash.
This is a pedestrian cover of Mort Shuman's TV theme. Played with power and volume, but it's quite pedestrian.
The House Of The Rising Sun
Heavy, double picked, brooding, and very surf. Son House's "The House Of The Rising Sun" has been done a few times as a surf instro, but this seems more to the point. The tremolo breaks are very cool.
Heavy, and perhaps liberated from "Besame Mucho," this is fast and fiery. There are some really strong lines, and reverb crashes at both ends. Lots of spunk and fire.
This is a straight forward trio arrangement of Dick Dale and his Del-tones' "The Wedge." Loud and fast, with some cool lines from "Malaguena" for a break. The drums are very good here.
