Captain Twang and his Rhythm Cat - Space Cowboysdotdotdot
artworkCaptain Twang and his Rhythm Cat play heavy slide and distortion guitar and drums, with an eye on George Thorogood if he were from Texas. Not terribly original, but quite enjoyable.

After Dark dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

This is a thick, jagged edged and reverbed instrumental treatment of Tito and Tarantula's superbly spooky song. Slithery slide, tremolo throb, spring reverb, and gritty distortion. Where the original is sinewy, this is gutsy. Very very cool!

Fiesta Twanguero dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Riff rock with chanted lines in Spanish punctuating the spaces between verses. Slide guitar torture, and gutsy chunk. It's not quite melodic enough to stick, and not Link Wray enough to not require a strong melody. Still, "Fiesta Twanguero" is a tuff number that commands attention and is rather sufficient on the open road! Think George Thorogood south of the border.

Misirlou dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Dry and gutty, and fairly original in sound, but in the sea of covers of this classic, it's not a standout. The double pick meter is a little rough, but the darkness is certainly there.

Ghostriders In The Sky dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Galloping grit with relentless drums. The arrangement seems to require a rhythm guitar that's not there, but it sure is dirty and intense. Some interesting original bits, but with so many versions of Stan Jones' master piece available. this is cool but not essential.
