Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA Los Bulldogs - Tema De Lara c/w Misserlou

 | Los Bulldogs were from Uruguay. They issued and album or two and a handful of singles, include this one which featured a garagy version of Dick Dale's "Miserlou." One can only imagine the reaction on first hearing that ripper in Uruguay. |

Rock (Instrumental)
"Lara's Theme" from Doctor Zhivago gets a facelift as Los Bulldogs convert it into an organ instro for a verse or two, and a guitar instro for the rest. It's small combo rock style is only interesting for the lead guitar's whammy notes and slight modulation. There is some double picking at the end.
Rock (Instrumental)
Well, isn't this interesting! Crude double picking, dry tone, a rock rhythm track, and yet... it's surf isn't it. Obviously based primarily on Dick Dale's single, there are also extracts from the Surfer's Choice version. Spunky, illusive, and cool in a primitive garage sort of way.
