Brazil 2001 - Hypnotizeddotdotdotdot
artworkThis is an advance CD-R from Brazil 2001 supplied to me by long time friend Chris Ashford of Iloki Records. It contains two new songs, both beautiful, romantic, slow numbers oozing imagery and camp lounge smoothness. Conjuring an image of Bernard Yin's mug while listening to this just made it more intriguing. I can't wait for a whole album.
Picks: Hypnotized By The Sun, Girl From Orange County

Hypnotized By The Sun dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Slow and sinewy, deliberately pretty, plucky deluxe, hinting of Polynesian curiosity and poi. This is a melodic, smooth, surfy, nearly lounge-like tune. It marks a departure stylistically, but not in character, from the Brazilliant ones usual stylee. The song is stunning. It features flourishes of double picked intensity, hidden drama, and ukulele delicacy. A fine track.

Girl From Orange County dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

This track has an almost Nelson Riddle TV theme quality about it, with a round ringing tone, and a melodic plink that requires a second listen. The song employs elements of lounge, of Henry Mancini - Pink Panther detective quaintness, and a flowing Girl From Ipanima mystique. Great track.
