Track by Track Review

Hyperpilocity dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Complete with horror film audio extractions, "Hyperpilocity" is much like the Beach Fool version, just very crude sounding. Sometimes melodic, sometimes assaultive, and splashy, with some very nice changes that make it work.

Trash-Parade 97 dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

This earlier version of "Trash-Parade" is already pretty well developed. Its main riff is very engaging, and it's backed by damped rhythm guitar and great drums. Great writing!.

Chicken Dance dotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Chicken Dance" is a riffy thrash chord assault that uses a derivation of the "Tequila" rhythm, thrash attack, and reverbed Marshall amp sound. Not melodic, but high energy.

Gunsville dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Gunsville" has an infectious galloping rhythm track backing a fine lead melody that displays a "Holiday Inn Spain" (Ray Beats) feel. Big whammy chords support the melody. Tasty track.

Freddy The Big Surfer dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

A somewhat punky riff and dark rhythm track suggest a future live monster. The bridges are very cool, as is the main riff.

Uno Sparo Nel Buio dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Henry Mancini's "Pink Panther Theme" is surf-spy trashed, and overdubbed with a loose narrative in a verse or two. Fine muted lines with whammy splash chords.

Wray-Man dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Link Wray inspired instro reminiscent of The Surf Coasters. It's riff rockin' rude, thick and raw.

Do-Da-Dee-Dee-Doo dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Do-Da-Dee-Dee-Doo" is a fast thrash-o-matic surf punk rave. With the exuberance of a Torpedoes tune, it shreds at full speed.

Eufolia vs. Lobo dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Heavy reverb crash opens this rhythmic number. Its melody riff is strong and simple, and the gritty glissandos are engaging.

Mosquitos dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

This is fairly riffy, yet also high energy and interesting, with liberated surfisms and audience-pleasing grins. A stop-start structure provides opportunity for the crowds to interject with their two cents worth of the titled shouted with frat house glee.

I... The Invisible Man dotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"I... The Invisible Man" is fairly low brow riff rock with frat house ethics. A cycling riff and stomping chomping grind.

King Of Sloths dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

This a wonderful song with rolling desert tom tom drama and muted rhythm in a spaghetti western - Indian style. "King Of Sloths" is simply wonderful with a ton of possibilities.
