 | This cassette demo was recorded in Lewie's bedroom with two mics and a real-to-real recorder in February of 1990. The covers are quite respectable, while the two originals are exceptionally well written. They were from Oxnard. |

Surf (Instrumental)
"Big Wednesday" a really cool tune, original and fluid, full of the surf sound, rooted in trad. The ambient sound only hints at the power hidden within. Chunky glissandoes, surf chords, and a very memorable melody line. An excellent tune waiting for a real studio take.
Surf (Instrumental)
This cover of the Creations' classic "Crash" is energetic and accurate. Infectiously delivered, right down to the shouts of joy. Solid trad.
Surf (Instrumental)
Decent and respectful version of the Go-Go's tune, reverbed and accurate.
Surf (Instrumental)
Accurate, but with less raw guts than the Original Surfaris. Still, it carries the energy and the intent. Solid performance.
Surf (Instrumental)
What a cool tune. Sorta Mexican, sorta suave, and definitely cool. This tune shows the promise this band never quite delivered, collapsing before a solid release. This is slightly sad, and a little haunting. Melodic and very enjoyable.
Surf (Instrumental)
Respectable version of the Chantays' classico. It's slightly gentle, very trad, more like the Dave Myers and the Surftones version combined with the Spiedels version than the original. Tasty.
Surf (Instrumental)
The Ventures' 1960 arrangement, chunked up just a bit, reverbed tastily.
Surf (Instrumental)
This is a pretty straight version of the Lively Ones' classic. It's slightly slow, fluid and ringing. Nice track.
