Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA The Beach Nuts - Loco Weed

 | This 1985 Australian single was quite a surprise. The band uses a very playful sound, and you can almost see the grins on their faces. One track is a vocal, if you consider two surf bums joking about the surf and how great their band is a vocal - no singing, just yuks and ad-libbed conversing. |

Track by Track Review
Surf (Instrumental)
Fun in the sun, camels and sand surfing, eerie tones, and a spiffy melody line, augmented by truely grodie piano/keyboard sounds. This is both mean and playful, with a spooky atmosphere, and a bunch of drama.
Eighties Surf (Instrumental)
This is a plinky playful track, with a ton of grin on it's face. It sports a nice melody, and a plunking guitar style that is reminiscent of violins picked in a Billy Vaughn MOR track. It's quite cool.
