Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA | If seventies Kraut Rock went back to the go-go garage, it might be like this. Yet another sound from Germany's Los Banditos. |
Picks: Fuzzball, Die Neue Vom Club, Kommissar X, Elektronisch Gesteuerte Laufkrane
Track by Track Review
Fuzzball
Combo Go-Go (Instrumental)
German narration over a riff pumpin' little track that's gotta be fun live. Sorta ska inspired, and noisily fuzzy.
Combo Go-Go (Instrumental)
"Die Neue Vom Club" is fun and sports a catchy melody line, plus energy and playfulness. Not particularly melodic, but fanciful and unpretentious.
Combo Go-Go (Instrumental)
Drums rise against sirens in the background like a murky Bow Bow Wow epic. "Kommissar X" is fun and a little angular, with a combo feel and an inverted grin. Kinda go-go, kinda not.
Elektronisch Gesteuerte Laufkrane

Combo Go-Go (Instrumental)
Take Archie Bell and the Drells' "Tighten Up," add the feel of the Neutrons' "No More Straights," filter through Booker T. and the MGs, and you'll get close to the sound. Pompous and dramatic, flighty disco jazz... very interesting.
