Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA Os Bandidos Molhados - De Cienfuegos a La Habana | This first release from Brazil's Os Bandidos Molhados is very original and very enjoyable. Wholly original songs, all in the surf vein, but not traditional at all. Very refreshing. |
Picks: Surfista de Trem, El Camino, Carlos e a Prancha

Surf (Instrumental)
A tiny small radio sample runs for a few seconds, and then a playfully rhythmic melody line ensues, which is separated from the bridge with a glissando. The bridge is muted while the melody is open. The break is presented via modern jammin' guitar tone. "Surfista de Trem" is a fun and rather unique surf instro. Very nice!
Surf (Instrumental)
"El Camino" features a circular and relentless melody line. The melody is stylistically not surf, but the tone and attitude are. This contrast creates an original sound. Satisfying.
Surf (Instrumental)
On the island holiday side, "Carlos e a Prancha" is very pleasant and charming, with slide chords that suggest island fantasy. This is a very nice track.
