Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA The Astroglides - Turkish Delight

 | This is a one-song sneak preview of the upcoming album from Israel's Astroglides. If the album is anything like this, it will be a stunning masterpiece of exotic and dangerous sounds.
The disc includes the very funny video shot for "Gunslinger 406 Malfunction" from their last release. |
Picks: Turkish Delight, Gunslinger 406 Malfunction
Track by Track Review
Surf (Instrumental)
"Turkish Delight" is a very ominous instro with a Mediterranean mystique and stereo guitars darkly spreading the danger. There's a subtle optimism amid the desperation of the music, and like great songs do, it uses many changes and to convey its stark imagery. I like this a lot.

Spaghetti Surf (Instrumental)
In an inversion of the usual spaghetti western itinerary, "Gunslinger 406 Malfunction" dangerously brings forth mechanical collapse. Theremin, chorus voices, eerie bells, and a sense of Annie Haslam's Renaissance gone mad in the curl. Pompous surf and larger than life production.
