Also here are a couple of tracks that have not previously been on CD, a completely unreleased track from the vault, and two live KFJC tracks which also appear on their self-released "Live In the USA" CD-R. Track by Track Review

Bajjad dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

This non-CD track rules with rhythm and power (surprise surprise). No limits to the thick and awesome energy of this nearly fanatical raver. A fine melody line and spectacular energy, with lots of reverb magic.

Crunch dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Crunch" is one mean surf tune. It's riff is friendly and in the pocket. The heavy compressed delivery is perfect for the melody. It may be mostly a riff, but it darn well grooves.

Invasion Of The Apemen dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Surf riffology dripped over an open garage door in the rain, thick and mean, with a lumbering break and strong drum work. Shreddin' hard, eating sand for the pleasure.

Cruisin' dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

This semi slow original sports a riff like the Meteors might write. It's smooth and powerful, and employs thundering toms. The ringing guitar tone is enticing and dangerous. Shallow whammy hints of watery thoughts while cruisin' along the coastline. Thick and warm, brooding and foreboding.

Intoxica dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Bob Hafner's oft covered classic employs power to separate it from the pack. Lots of spirit, and thick sound. This alcohol drenched surf rage is is given the Dutch Crunch treatment. It's powerful, the Apemen shout and scream, and the reverb intensely quivers. This is among the hottest takes around, despite the presence of the expected live glitches. Where's my beer?

El Tortura dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"El Tortura" defines surf sludge! It's huge, lumbering, intense, majorly dark and mean. Riff surf a la Link Wray at Waimea. Thunder, monster tubes, and pure evil.

Percolator Stomp dotdotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

There's no Sterno needed to percolate the coffee bubba, just a few seconds of "Percolator Stomp." Excellent, thick, and very powerful.

Pogo A Go-Go dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Early reverbiage from Holland's Apemen. Among their best early originals, "Pogo a Go-go" is chunky and quirky. The melody is fluid and way fun.

Toronado dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Toronado" is dedicated to the classic Oldsmobile. The thick over reverbed sound masks some of the intense energy of this amazingly well written surf pounder. A melodic and rhythmic riff drives this home. The keys are suitably low in the mix for the most part.

Surf Dracula dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Rhythmic eastern block feel and flying surf leads work well together. Images of dancing Cossacks and shortboard surf bunnies is irresistible. "Surf Dracula" is actually a surfed up arrangement of "Soul Dracula" by Hot Blood.

Baha Ree-Ba dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

The Trademarks' wonderful "Baha-Ree-Bah" is shredded mightily. Fast and poundy, driven like there's no tomorrow. The organ carries the mariachi horn lines, and the lead guitar rages at 90 miles an hour. Excellent!

When Johnny Comes Wreckin' Home dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Not since the Lancers brazen garage surf epic of the early sixties has this Civil War classic been so powerfully pummeled. Shreddin' lead guitar, and thick crunch.

Shake Your Hoover dotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Distorted and overdriven fiery performance from the Apemen... totally horrid sound.

Squad Car dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Previously unreleased, and flashy as the you'd expect from the insane speedsters. Powerful, full throated, with a slightly modified melody line and lots of flair. Excellent

Surf Party dotdotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Bringing edge and power to the Astronauts' movie title track, this is just plain hot! Power and amazing speed.

Miserlou dotdotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Dutch crunch delivery of thee surf instro. As hot as Dick Dale's 1962 rendition, but very different. The trumpet part is carried by the organ. The boys scream and shout their way through this. It all ends in a howling hail of feedback and a reverb kick. Man oh man!
