 | These four instros are culled from the Apehangers' living room at MySpace. There's some real cool things developing with this band. I'm looking forward to a real CD release. |
Picks: Rumb'l Rod, Surfing With The Sharks, Trail Of The Lonesome Pine, Vaporizer
Track by Track Review
Surf (Instrumental)
"Rumb'l Rod" is a very cool circular riff surfer with whammy twang and attractive picking action. It's not really melodic, but it has the kind of rhythmic draw that the Evasions used to generate.
Surf (Instrumental)
"Surfing With The Sharks" is slightly sad, and sports tasteful whammy and speedy light double picking. It's quite a fun song with a Godfather on a shortboard feel.
Trail Of The Lonesome Pine

Surf (Instrumental)
This traditional cowboy song is a very fun vehicle for a surf adventure. It's light nature calls for a rhythm guitar, but other than that, this is a real grinner.
Surf (Instrumental)
"Vaporizer" is heavy reverb surf for a storm surf day. Thoroughly tuff and vintage with relentless dark energy. Beefy and twangy, with whammy chords and splendid reverb.
