Track by Track Review
Surf (Instrumental)
A long howling intro and industrial drums bring on a very cool track that's eerie and suspicious. Spies, surf, and ominous imagery collide as "Uschi Digard" progresses. This is a thoroughly original instrumental with a larger than life drama and cinematic sweep. Very cool!
Surf (Instrumental)
"Interlude Extralucide" is a minute long sonar ping and acoustic piece with a very eerie feeling.
Surf (Instrumental)
Heavy and stylish, "Soho" has a dissonant spy feeling and angular drama. The slow passages are very VERY cool, and maybe a bit psychedelic, while the thrashy sections are like intense go-go. Quite something!
Surf (Instrumental)
A cycling and dangerous piece with a large sound and ominous nature. "Luger" is a heavy guitar slice of intense pressure and danger. Very effective!
Surf (Instrumental)
"Milano Spy Party" reminds me a little of the party scene in A, B, and C (The Prisoner). Perhaps this was the inspiration, or perhaps not, but its uncomfortable nature surely suggest it.
Surf (Instrumental)
This is a long and dramatic epic with a psychotic edge and psycho kinetic feel, much like the mushy thinking of the sedated in an institution, at least until the frantic escape scene where the pace quickens and the powerful sound conveys desperation. Quite cinematic.
Surf (Instrumental)
Speedy danger and dark organ churning augment surf tone and evil spy doings. "Onda Di Crimine" is hard driving and maybe a bit space rock weird.
Surf (Instrumental)
Heavy and intense, with tribal tom toms and pulsing rhythms, "Return Of The Death Ray" swirls in a dark and reverby place. Heavy and on the edge of horror spies.
Surf (Instrumental)
This is a pretty unusual version of the hokey film theme, with lots of great drums, film-style whirling electronics, and tuff guitars. Fun and large in production style.
Surf (Instrumental)
This is a slow and lush wash of sultry ambiance for the first half, then "Stripagram" emerges as a fast spy-surf number with intense edge and great drums. Powerful and unnerving.
Surf (Instrumental)
"Soy Un Zombie" is a well developed track with excellent production. The fast portions have great power, and are balanced against the splendid, more soothing sections. Surf and eerie swirls of circling riffs. Very cool, especially as the tremolo kicks in.
Surf (Instrumental)
This is a brief and lovely piece with a haunting sound and emotional element.
Surf (Instrumental)
Fast and frantic, "Doppio Giogo" suggests film themes in structure and arrangement, but is not as hokey as such things often are. Intense guitar work and rising howls.
Surf (Instrumental)
"Stella Polaris" is a gentle and slow piece with a kind of carnival air and lounge appeal. The combination suggests luncheon on the verandah at the asylum. The imagery is quite compelling.
