Made In England dotdotdotdot
Rock (Instrumental)

This is one fine instro in the Shadows style. The haunting melody drifts across a foggy night like the beautiful specter of a sad little girl lost in a time warp. Beautifully recorded and played, and quite magnificent, it comes in at an almost unheard of 2:58 for 1963. Randy Bachman's fluid "Made In England" is written around the style of his main influence Hank Marvin. Cut while the band was known as Chad Allan and the Reflections, "Made In England" was recorded at Minneapolis' legendary Kay Bank studio, and issued in 1964 on the Reo label, which listed the artist as Bob Ashley and the Reflections, an all too common practice in those days of label shenanigans (oh, you think it's different now!). Bachman sent a copy to his idols the Shadows in hopes that they would cover it, but alas it was not to be.
