AcoustaSonics - MySpacedotdotdot
artworkAtlanta's AcoustaSonics are a guitar trio playing instrumentals with some surf flavor. The production values are boomy and uncomplimentary to the guitars other than lead, but the playing is very good and the ideas just fine. Perhaps one day, they will cut a CD.
Picks: Baja, Honky Tonk, Lamento A Go-Go, Pink Panther

Baja dotdotdot
Acoustic Surf (Instrumental)

This is a very pleasant rendering of Lee Hazelwood's superb "Baja." The delicacy is really nice and the tone rich. It's quite different from other acoustic version - in fact, it's not acoustic, it's electric. Very cool.

Honky Tonk dotdotdot
Acoustic Surf (Instrumental)

Bill Dogget's "Honky Tonk" gets an echoey and boomy aural treatment. The guitars alone carry the day. It's sultry and very pleasant.

Lamento A Go-Go dotdotdotdot
Acoustic Surf (Instrumental)

I think this is a cover of the Penetrators' "Lamento A Go-Go." The lovely melody and delicate playing are wonderful. The song's melody lends itself very well to this guitar duo arrangement. Just very satisfying!

Pink Panther dotdotdot
Acoustic Surf (Instrumental)

Henry Mancini's "The Pink Panther Theme" is gently goofy and smooth with lots of boomy ambiance. It's an easy listen.
